InvoCare Limited and Simplicity Funerals is joining with the Australian Chinese Charity Foundation (ACCF) and other corporations to offer condolences, sympathies and support for the Lin family and their local North Epping community in their time of need.
Five members of the Lin family were tragically made the victims of an as yet unexplained act of violence that has shocked the nation.
InvoCare Limited, through Simplicity Funerals, is respectfully supporting the Lin family by organising and arranging funeral services appropriate to the family’s Buddhist traditions, as well as organising a show of community support that will give the departed Lin family members full respect for their contribution to their local community as well as to support the family members and friends left behind.
At this stage, subject to final confirmation, the funeral services details are:
Venue: Memorial service at Badgery Pavilion, Sydney Olympic Park
Time: 11.00 am to 12.30 pm at the Badgery Pavilion followed by a 7 hearse and multiple limousine funeral cortège to a local cemetery
Service style: Public memorial service followed by full Buddhist burials for the majority of family members at a local cemetery
The Lin family invites friends and the public to the memorial service to pay their respects. The choice of service date is auspicious according to the Chinese calendar. The number 8 is considered lucky and so the service, scheduled for the eighth day of the eighth month, is considered a fitting day for both the service and burial and will benefit the spirits of the departed.
Behind the scenes InvoCare and Simplicity Funerals has been liaising with the NSW Police Strike Force Norburn, the Eastwood Local Area Command and Traffic Services, as well as with security at Sydney Olympic Park to ensure the funeral services are run according to the family’s wishes.
Andrew Smith, InvoCare’s Chief Executive Officer, says:
“To the Lin family, on behalf of InvoCare and Simplicity Funerals I offer my deepest sympathies. It is InvoCare and Simplicity Funerals’ honour to join with the ACCF and the broader community in finding ways to help you at this difficult time. “InvoCare and Simplicity Funerals will also continue to work with the ACCF and its corporate partners to continue to support the Lin family and the North Epping community as it comes to terms with and grieves for the loss this terrible incident has caused.” END
