We believe that every veteran deserves a dignified and respectful farewell that honours their service and wishes, regardless of circumstance.
InvoCare is proud to collaborate with RSL Queensland to provide funerals and memorials that honour and respect the service of those who have served our country through the Australian Defence Force.
With over 50 funeral homes across Queensland, including White Lady, Simplicity, George Harnett Metropolitan, Drysdale, Somerville, Guardian, Mackay, Grafton & District, Heritage, Gatton Laidley Lowood and Hiram Philp Funerals, InvoCare works in partnership with RSL sub-branches across the region to provide meaningful funerals that reflect the life, service and values of all veterans.
A poppy service is a simple addition to a funeral or memorial where a member of the RSL will present the member’s military service records, facilitate a reciting of the Ode, the sounding of the Last Post and Rouse, and provide poppies for the service that are laid on the coffin by fellow veterans as a sign of remembrance.
Incorporating war memorabilia, military music and other elements that reflect the veteran’s service.
Some veterans may be entitled to a one-off veteran funeral benefit of up to $2,000 to support the cost of a funeral. RSL Queensland can help families understand and access these entitlements through DVA.
InvoCare has dedicated return serviceman’s sections within its five cemeteries and crematoriums across Queensland, where veterans can be laid to rest. If a veteran is entitled to a war graves memorial, the family are provided the memorial and bronze plaque at no cost through the Office of Australian War Graves.
