A funeral ceremony can vary widely in its cost, depending on the choices made. It is important to advise the funeral director if a pre-paid funeral plan existed for the deceased. The funeral costs break up in five main categories -
The funeral director's fee. This covers all the time and arrangements the funeral director will make on behalf of the bereaved family, as well as the usual overhead costs and administration expenses all businesses experience.
The cost of the coffin or casket - we offer a large and varied selection of caskets so we can meet the needs of all families. These range from simple veneered particle board to solid or carved timber caskets, or even gold plated.
Other fees - these include costs the funeral director must pay on or before the day of the funeral eg flowers, clergy, medical fees for certificates, etc.
The cost of a burial site or cremation. These costs vary depending on location.
Memorialisation costs - this consists of a large variety of choices such as plaques, headstones or monuments and many other options. Staff at any cemetery or crematorium can assist with these decisions.
